I am VERY excited to share the photo above today. Joana makes beautiful jewelry in her ETSY store. Guess what, this is an example of my hand dyed threads!!! It would not have occurred to me when I was dyeing these threads that they could be used in any way other than stitching. Thank you for sharing this Joana and I really look forward to more photos in future.
I dyed some silk ribbon recently for the local quilt store I sell my threads at. They are both 4mm and 7mm widths. I'm not sure how these will sell as not many silk ribbon enthusiasts locally but will see.
Not long ago Janet contacted me and asked if I would be interested in some silk thread. Her aunt collected antique dolls and made clothing for them. She evidently had a large supply of threads and laces some of which Janet had inherited. These arrived late last week.
Thank you for thinking of me Janet. I will think of both you and your aunt as I stitch with them.
Buttonhole twist silk - gorgeous! AND don't you love the spools.....
Over the past couple of weekends we have spent some time in Vancouver for some Christmas lunches, shopping, Cirque's new show Amaluna etc.
Over the last several years one of our landmark hotels in Vancouver, The Georgia underwent a very extensive renovation and is now operated by the Rosewood chain of hotels. This is one of the floral displays in the lobby area. Quite simplistic yet very beautiful. Poinsettias, amaryllis, orchids and some branches. Future inspiration!
Thank you again to those of you who took the time to leave condolences. I sincerely appreciate it.
I have not been feeling particularly creative of late but I will have a few things to share. Back on Wednesday.
With recent events my creativity has been poor but I will have a few things to show. Back on Wednesday.
To say the last week or so has been difficult would be an understatement. I wanted to extend my heartfelt appreciation to those of you who took the time to leave condolences. They were very much appreciated.
