CQJP March 2012

Now onto what I've been up to over the last month. 

It occurred to me last month that some of you would perhaps like to see the "naked" block PRIOR to stitching so here is March. 

If I had it to do again, I'd take out the light blue/green silk as all the other fabrics are in the olive green family!  Have no idea what I was thinking or not thinking. 

My March block is all about spring. 

I started off with a small silk ribbon floral spray in one section.  It has a background of feather stitches and some french knot buds.

Inspiration galore!!!

Thanks to all of you who left such lovely comments about my February block.
SO
It started Monday morning this week when I was researching bead embroidery options and in particular any videos that may be on the internet. 
I came across this video
I followed this by visiting Bea Valdes' website where I hit the motherload of inspiration.
 Ms. Valdes has a company in Manilla that makes the most exquisite evening purses.
All are hand stitched!
I love the shape of the one above and colour scheme.
