This could make me a Halloween collector! Johanna Parker is a very talented folk artist. She is currently hosting a giveaway on her blog "Lucky Lumina" shown above. I would just love to win him..... Why don't you head over and check out her blog at
I am hoping to finish up my filming this week so I can start creating again!
Enjoy your day.....

Something a bit different today! In late March of this year I had the pleasure of taking a class with assemblage artist Michael deMeng - The class was entitled demented toys and yes, the results were quite demented! Michael is a generous teacher with a great sense of humour.
The background is a silver trowel/spoon I picked up at the thrift store. The head is from a toy which sits in a plastic shoe. The legs are spider legs detached from a rubber spider. Michael shared his painting techniques (he uses Golden acrylics) to finish the piece!
I had great fun and will have more to show you in future posts! Enjoy your creative day!

The very talented Lesley Venables @ has my blog featured today in a Yummy Yummy Blog post! This is so kind of you. Thank you Lesley! Lesley is featuring an incredible giveaway too so visit her blog....
I am finding the new friendships I am establishing through blogging is wonderful. I have artists visiting from all over the world - U.S., Germany, Sweden, France, Australia and here at home in Canada too! Am so excited about it all!
When I entered Lesley's giveaway last week I noted that one of the prizes offered was for Collage Camp?! Now this sounded interesting. Enjoyed my visit to KC Willis' site @ She does the most beautiful fabric collage. Am definitely going to sign up for the workshop. Check out her blog too @
Am off to work on my videos. Hope all of you get some time to be creative today!

Last year I purchased one of Dawn's tutorials at - a fairy in a jar. While I did complete a fairy jar, I decided to experiment with what else I could put in a jar. So here is my "art" jar! At the time I was thinking about doing the entire alphabet - rather ambitious.... In any event, the remaining alphabet has not transpired.

To all of my American friends and followers, wishing you a pleasant Memorial Day. Hope you hold those that are no longer with you close to your heart.....

Just a quick post this morning to let you know about a fabulous giveaway on Lesley's blog at Check out her art!

A mini album combining mica and soldering with a garden theme. This is my version of Lisa Cook's album featured in a publication a couple of years ago. You can see more of her work at Enjoy your weekend!

For all the coffee drinkers that need a cup to get the day started! I am not a big coffee drinker myself, just the occasional cup of decaf in the evening after a dinner out. Hot chocolate is my drink of choice! Beautiful sunny day here on the west coast today. Hope you all manage a bit of creative time today. Enjoy..... Thanks Sharon for signing up to follow my blog.....
A very big THANK YOU to Dawn at for welcoming me to the world of blogging!

I have an anniversary card I made a short time ago to share with you today. Filming is keeping me busy followed by editing so am not getting much time to create. I wrote up a bio yesterday for Gail at I find it difficult to summarize myself in one paragraph, especially when I have soooo.... many varied art interests. Have so many ideas in my head! Want to dye/paint some muslin next week to use in some upcoming projects. Did manage to make it to the nursery yesterday and planted some pots for the deck. Looking forward to some warmer weather which seems to be taking a very long time to get here this year. Enjoy your day!

Thank you Dawn at for welcoming me and many thanks to all of you who have visited. I do plan to update my site at least every other day if not daily with photos of my work. I have added a translator at the bottom of the page and a follower page at the left. I am busy recording video for my upcoming class at Creative workshops but thought you may like to see another soldering creation.

New Venture

As some of you know, I have been teaching soldering workshops for several years now. I have a new venture - my first online workshop teaching soldering at I'm excited! Class will start June 15th! Come and take a look!

Welcome to my blog!

For the past year I have visited so many of your blogs and find so much inspiration. All of your creativity never ceases to amaze me. I try to do something “creative daily” hence the name. Key word here is TRY, life sometimes gets in the way but I do give it my best effort.

A little about me! Although my career path did not involve art, I am an avid learner. I participated in decorative painting for many years followed by quilting, textile art and surface design. In my quest to learn new techniques to add to my textiles, I fell into mixed media and altered art which I now love. Digital collage followed and more recently I have ventured into figurative sculpting – a new challenge!

I look forward to sharing my artistic ventures and those of others with you. And just maybe I will inspire you along the way!
